Arwa Al Qassim

Specialist in the Projects and Events Department of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, where she is responsible for managing projects related to Islamic culture and arts, and promoting Dubai’s position as the capital of the Islamic economy. She joined Dubai Culture in 2015, bringing a wealth of regional experience to the Authority from her previous role as Senior Research Analyst in the Strategy Department of Emirates Competitiveness Council – an entity that is focused on driving the UAE’s competitiveness agenda, achieving its vision for sustainable growth and prosperity, and establishing the UAE as a leading global nation. Prior to her role with Emirates Competitiveness Council, she gained valuable experience as a member of the Prime Minister’s office while also undertaking im-portant fundraising work for leading regional charities including Dubai Cares and BASE, where she acted as an involved volunteer and team leader for a variety of initiatives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) with a major in International Relations and a minor in Psychology, as well as a master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS) in London, UK. She also completed the Innovative Leaders Programme as part of the UAE Government Leaders Programme in 2015.
