After graduating in business studies and economics, she first started collecting contemporary art in the early nineties. Her passion for supporting artists by showing and being involved in the production of new works led her to set up the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in 1995, of which she is President. She is Member of the International Council at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Member of the Friends of Contemporary Drawing at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Member of the International Council, Tate, London; Member of the Leadership Council, New Museum, New York; Member of the Advisory Committee for Modern and Contemporary Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art; Member of the Council of the Advisory, École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Lyon; Member of Jury, Hugo Boss Asia Art Award; Member of the Board of Governors of the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, New York; Member of Art Basel Cities Advisory Board. She is President of the Comitato Fondazioni Arte Contemporanea, Member of the Confindustria Nazionale Cultural Commission, Member of the “Giuria dei Letterati” for the “Premio Campiello”. She was awarded the title “Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana” (2005) and “Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Ministry of Culture in 2009.
