GIUSEPPE SCELLATO

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is Full Professor at the Politecnico di Torino, where he teaches Finance and Economics and Management of Innovation. Since 2018 he is the chairman of the Business Incubator of the Politecnico di Torino. During the years 2015-2018 he has been the vice-Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management. Since 2017 he is a member of the board of the Future Urban Legacy Lab (FULL-POLITO). Since 2008 he has been a research associate of the Bureau of Research in Innovation, Complexity and Knowledge at the College Carlo Alberto in Torino. His main research interests are in the area of economics and management of innovation, industry dynamics, the economic analysis of intellectual property rights and the economics of science. His scientific publications have appeared in leading international journals, including Science, Nature, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Corporate Finance, Research Policy, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Research, Cambridge Journal of Economics. He has been guest editor for different journals in the field of innovation studies. In recent years, he has been principal investigator of research projects funded by the European Commission, the European Patent Office, the EU Joint Research Center, the European Investment Bank, the National Bureau of Economic Research (USA). He has been a member of expert groups and committees for the evaluation of public policies for research and innovation in different Italian regions. He has managed numerous consulting projects with public and private organizations in the areas of intellectual property and innovation.
