She obtained a degree in Biology from the University of Torino in 1975. She is Full Professor of Molecular Genetics at the University of Turin and Director of the Molecular Biotechnology Center (MBC). Since 2015 she has been President of the Bioindustry Park Silvano Fumero of Colleretto Giacosa (Ivrea) and since July 2021 she has been President of the Business Incubator of the University of Torino 2i3T.
Her scientific interests are focused on the study of the differentiation of stem cells derived from different sources and their potential for use in regenerative medicine with particular reference to cell therapy in liver dysfunctions.
