Salim Al-Ali

Assistant professor at College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). He was educated in the United Kingdom, where he has received his PhD award in financial law from University of London. His research interests are primarily focused on financial law, Islamic financial law and regulatory and legal aspects of developing Islamic financial markets. He was also a part-time lecturer for the LLM program at the BPP Law School, BPP University based in London. In addition, he is currently a member of the Internal Sharia Control Committee for Al Hilal Bank, Al Hilal Takaful and Al Hilal Islamic Bank Kazakhstan. He is author of ‘Raising Capital on Sukuk Markets – Structural, Legal and Regulatory Issues’ published by Palgrave Macmillan. He has presented in a number of international events and conferences on various areas pertaining to law and practice of Islamic finance, financial services regulation and economic crimes, including Harvard University and University of Cambridge.
