Margarita Lalayan

Senior Programme Officer at International Training Center of the ILO. She has 15 years of microfinance experience in operations and consulting. She worked with number of training and research projects focused on organizational development and strategic planning, product development, market research and other aspects of microfinance. As a responsible finance and microfinance consultant, she was involved in various practitioners’ and associations’ initiatives in 20 countries in Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia and MENA regions. Since 2007 she has been actively involved in financial education, client protection and social performance management development in those regions and served as a speaker at number of regional conferences and events, as well as authored and co-authored several training manuals, case-studies and other publications. Prior to regional work, she managed microfinance operations in one of the leading microfinance institutions in Armenia. Margarita is an Accredited Trainer of the ITC ILO in Making Microfinance Work training program. She holds a degree in Economics from State Institute of Economics (Armenia) and speaks English, Russian, and Armenian.
