Director of the Museum of Oriental Art of Torino. Trained as an anthropologist (University of Rome, London School of Economics) after almost 20 years as curator at the Museo Nazionale Preistorico Etnografico in Rome he moved to Brussels as national expert in Culture at the European Commission (DG Education and Culture) and later on to Strasbourg at the Council of Europe (Direction for Culture and Cultural Heritage) . Back in Italy, he was for over four years Director of the Civic Museums of Udine.
